1971 Arteônica
The term Arteônica [Artonics] was invented by Waldemar Cordeiro. It is the combination of two words: arte [art] + eletrônica [electronics]. It denotes art made with electronic means, which at that time was the computer. In the rest of the world, it was called computer art. The exhibition Arteônica was the first exhibition of Latin American computer art held at FAAP in São Paulo. The catalog presents the artists through texts and images that they sent, published in each artist’s original language. The format is loose pages so that the readers can remove those that they want without following the preestablished order as in a traditional book or catalog.
