From the 1980s onward, the artist began to investigate the subjects related to spirituality and religious syncretism, as well as the potentials of the mind, body and spirit, through a connection with nature and the sacred. This investigation took on even greater importance in the artist’s work after her first visit to Brazil, in 1989, when she gained experiences that provided rich material for the production of photographs, videos, sculptures and installations.Marina Abramović is recognized as one of the greatest icons of contemporary art in the world and a pioneer of performance art. Over the past 50 years, she has captivated audiences by pushing the limits of her body and mind. Her legacy is currently the focus of a major solo exhibition in Switzerland, at Kunsthaus Zürich, which features works spanning all periods of her career.In The Jump, Abramović plays Tosca, one of the heroines from her opera Seven Deaths of Maria Callas. With costumes designed by Italian fashion designer Riccardo Tisci, the opera pays tribute to the legendary soprano Maria Callas and has been staged in major cities around the world, including London, Paris, Madrid, Milan, and Athens.Marina Abramović é reconhecidamente um dos maiores ícones da arte contemporânea no mundo e pioneira da arte performática, cativando o público ao ultrapassar os limites do seu corpo e mente, nos últimos 50 anos. Atualmente, o legado da artista sérvia é tema para uma grande exposição individual na Suíça, no museu Kunsthaus Zürich, com obras de todos os períodos criativos da artista.
Em “Jump”, Marina Abramovic interpreta “Tosca”, uma das heroínas da ópera de sua autoria “Seven Deaths of Maria Callas”. Com figurino assinado pelo fashion designer italiano Riccardo Tisci, a ópera é um tributo à famosa cantora lírica e já foi apresentada em diversas capitais do mundo, como Londres, Paris, Madri, Milão e Atenas.
