In his artistic practice, Bosco Sodi favors the simplicity of natural materials such as pigments, sawdust, fibers, wood, and earth, while celebrating traditional Latin American concepts and values. The combination of these elements with the gestural nature of his process gives each work a unique and exceptional character.

This textured painting was created during the first edition of the Luciana Brito Galeria LAB, a project that revisits the concept of the artist’s studio and exposes the creative process to the public. For this, Sodi employed one of his most recognized techniques, in which he accumulates materials on the canvas, resulting in a richly textured surface.

In a novel approach, he also impressed onto the surface the shape of the heliconia, a typical Brazilian flower frequently used by landscape architect Burle Marx, and which also grows in the gardens of Luciana Brito Galeria.
