The work Untitled was created during the artist’s participation in the first edition of Luciana Brito Galeria LAB, a project that reimagines the concept of the artist’s studio by allowing the public to witness the artistic process and engage with key questions surrounding the act of creation.
For this piece, Bosco Sodi employed one of his most renowned techniques, in which he builds up layers of material on the canvas to create a richly textured surface. On this occasion, however, he also impressed onto the surface the shape of the heliconia, a distinctive Brazilian flower frequently used by landscape architect Burle Marx, and one that also grows in the gardens of Luciana Brito Galeria.
