Since the late 1950s, the artist has been a leading figure in the evolution of artistic research, opening new approaches for visual representation and the composition of images.The works of her series In Absentia (1980s) demonstrate how the artist was already manipulating the codes used in perspective-based visual representations, in this case simulating absent objects. The historical studies of this series illustrate the steps the artist took toward her final objective, at a time when such work was done without technological assistance, carried out with brush and paint in the physical space.A trajetória de Regina Silveira confunde-se com a história da arte contemporânea brasileira. Desde o final da década de 1950, a artista tem sido grande protagonista na evolução da pesquisa artística, abrindo os caminhos para o desenvolvimento das diferentes frentes de representação e composição da imagem.Obras da série “In Absentia” (década 1980) mostram como a artista já manipulava graficamente os códigos de representação em perspectiva, neste caso simulando objetos ausentes. Os estudos históricos dessa série ilustram as etapas percorridas pela artista até seu objetivo final, que na época não contavam com a ajuda tecnológica e eram realizadas com pincel e tinta no ambiente.
