One of her great strengths lies in the distilled power of her representations, which paradoxically (or ironically) emerges through collecting. Knickknacks, toys, ornaments and other small objects she gathers remain stored until they are poetically “licensed” by the artist in ways that are sometimes wryly critical, sometimes playful.Por meio de referências da cultura popular e da memória coletiva, Liliana Porter se utiliza de artifícios que beiram o fantástico para compor trabalhos que subvertem as convenções impostas pelo cotidiano e pela própria arte, criando situações ambíguas e controversas, em situações chamadas “vinhetas teatrais”.
Nessa série mais recente e bem-humorada de pequenas instalações, a artista utiliza objetos miniaturas para criar narrativas alegóricas e distorcidas da realidade e do tempo, que ponderam sobre a condição humana. Uma de suas grandes habilidades recai no poder de síntese das suas representações, que paradoxalmente (ou ironicamente) acontece a partir do colecionismo. Bibelôs, brinquedos, ornamentos e outros pequenos objetos garimpados permanecem armazenados até serem “licenciados” pela poética da artista, por vezes ácida, por vezes bem humorada.
