Rob Wynne is a collector of memories. Keenly aware of his own context and popular culture, the artist uses visual syntax to combine fragments excerpted from conversations, literature, theater, cinema, etc., in installations which involve images and, most importantly, texts as principal elements – whether in sculptures, installations, collages, digital printing, or embroidery.
While visiting a glassworks, Rob Wynne became deeply interested in this material, which he has used extensively in his work ever since. He works with organic forms that he obtains from glass in its molten state, spreading it manually. His interest in working with this material arose when he was holding a glob of molten glass that slipped and fell onto the floor, forming what he describes as a “cosmic explosion.”
